The Process

I was interested in the form, proportion, structure and relationship with the landscape of the CWS (Co-operative Wholesale Society) Flour Mill buildings. Over several years I made drawings and took photographs. Built in 1907-8 it was a substantial landmark in Avonmouth and a gateway to the working docks. It was demolished in 2013. The physical and chemical techniques of etching reflect the industrial nature of the subject.
