Artist Residencies

Ros Ford’s latest residency was with Swansea Print Workshop, Wales, Drawn to Print project in 2012. She made drawings, a large etching The Vetch and a series of smaller etchings and photopolymer prints which have been exhibited in Swansea, London and Bristol.

The Vetch

Ros Ford spent two months in Swansea as one of three artists in residence at Swansea Print Workshop for a year long Drawn to Print project. The Vetch is the old football ground in Swansea overlooked by Swansea prison. In 2012 a social artwork Vetch Veg project took place in the Vetch creating interesting juxtapositions and landscapes that feature in the etchings.

Leigh Court Farm

Ros Ford was artist in residence for a year at a 19th century walled garden, Leigh Court Farm near Bristol, South West England. The residency was to document the garden in its first year of transition to organic status. The residency resulted in an exhibition of photo-collages, paintings, photographs and drawings. Artist Commissions

Ros Ford undertakes painting and etching commissions of private gardens as well as for other projects. She draws, takes photographs on site and develops her idea in liaison with clients. Her latest commissions are large etchings with an aerial viewpoint.

Garden, Martock, Somerset

The commission, completed in 2013 is of a family house and garden with the owners and their grandchildren and pets. From start to finish the commission was made over about a year, with several visits by Ros Ford to draw and photograph the garden in the different seasons. The clients have the only copy of the hand coloured etching apart from the artist’s copy for display.
