Ros Ford RWA, ARE is a painter and printmaker based in Bristol.
Inspired by the unordered, the overlooked and the sideshows of life, my work is about functional structures and buildings that are often unnoticed.
My recent etchings are based on hidden industrial landscapes close to my home and studio. I make drawings and photographs on location that I develop into series of prints and paintings. I work at BV Studios, Bristol and have won national prizes and awards for my work.
My prints and paintings are exhibited, collected and held in public and private collections in the UK and internationally. I undertake commissions and residencies, teach drawing and printmaking and have founded and co-ordinated art events.

Bankside Gallery (next to Tate Modern)
Opening party April 25th 6 -9 pm
Opening daily 11am – 6pm
Closing party Monday May 1st 11am -6pm
This will be my largest exhibition for a few years, it is a wonderful gallery and I will be showing my large prints, together, for first time including new prints. I will also be exhibiting smaller works.
‘A compelling new exhibition at Bankside Gallery from seven Bristol-based artists, Trace is a collective exposure of process, time, history and place. Dark, forgotten structures, inner and actual landscapes, surreal recreations and deconstructed practices combine to make this a showing of the unexpected. Utilizing print, sculpture, drawing and painting, each artist discloses their own separate practice while a wider conversation emerges between them.’
Other participating artists are: Irena Czapska, Ian Chamberlain, Jolanta Grzybowska, Libby Lloyd, Lisa Scantlebury and David Sully.
